Fiction on the Web is only accepting submissions from Patreon members during the month of May. If you are not a Patreon supporter, please sign up on Patreon, or come back next month.
Submissions should be between 1,000 and 10,000 words, double-spaced in 12-point font.
By submitting, you warrant that you are the sole copyright owner of the work, the work contains no AI-generated text, and the work does not currently appear anywhere else online (it's ok if it used to be online, or appears only in print).
After submitting, you will receive an acknowledgment from Submittable.
You can usually expect a response within 30 days, usually much faster.
Fiction on the Web is seeking a volunteer Digital Marketing Manager.
If you’re passionate about short stories, we would love you to join our team. Commitment and creativity are much more important than experience.
The estimated time commitment is 5-6 hours/week on average. All work is completed online.
The primary objective is to increase readership, and the secondary objective is to grow Fiction on the Web’s Patreon membership. You might do that by creating social media content, or conversing with writers, or identifying PR opportunities, or something completely different. We’re flexible – we want to hear how you will approach the job.
Fiction on the Web cannot pay a salary, but various perks are available, such as free Fiction on the Web audiobooks and physical books.
And, of course, you’ll be part of the team. It’s a great way to get a glimpse under the hood of a literary magazine, gain experience, meet writers, and contribute to the literary community.
